San Juan Island National Historical Park is organizing a BioBlitz at American Camp and English Camp in celebration of National Park Week, April 19-25, 2014 and we invite you to join us! We would greatly appreciate your help!
A BioBlitz is a unique combination of taxonomic inventory, public outreach, and science education. At its core, the BioBlitz is a species inventory in which teams of volunteers, each lead by an expert scientist, find, identify, and photograph as many species as possible within the week.
Need training? Not a problem! Join us for one or both of our citizen science workshops in the community room at San Juan Center, Skagit Valley College. On April 17 at 6:30pm learn about basic bird identification and how to use iNaturalist for the BioBlitz. On April 18 at 1:30pm learn about basic amphibian identification and how to use iNaturalist for the BioBlitz.
